California Avenue Train Station

One of my more frequent subjects is the California Ave. Caltrain station, as it’s the closest station to where I live. This was taken about 10pm on a Sunday night in June, 2008. The weird sculpture glimpsed through the archway is in a park in the distance, across the tracks and a busy street.

Shot with the Nikon D70s and the 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 zoom at 70mm, ISO 400, f/4.5. It is my first serious attempt at compositing. It is made from two shots with different exposure times, 1.3 sec and 5.0 sec, composited in Photoshop CS4; hopefully the seams don’t show too badly!
