In August, 2003, the town of Mendocino put on a star party to celebrate the close approach of Mars. Telescopes and wine seemed to feature prominently.

Taken in August, 2003 with a Pentax ZX-5N (with the kit 28-80mm f3.5 zoom lens) on Fuji Provia 100, scanned on a Polaroid SprintScan 35+, then cleaned up and cropped in Photoshop CS2, with levels and highlights adjustments in Aperture.
